1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Gymmie ("Gymmie," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal data when you use the Gymmie iOS application, our website, and related support services. It applies to information you provide directly, information created through your use of the app, and information we receive from device permissions or service providers you choose to use.
Some features are optional and require specific permissions, such as HealthKit, Contacts, Photos, Microphone, or precise Location. You can deny or later change those permissions through iOS settings, although some features may then be unavailable or work differently.
2. Data we collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
3. Apple HealthKit data
If you connect Apple Health, Gymmie may request permission to read health or fitness information that is relevant to features you choose to use, such as activity, workouts, energy expenditure, body measurements, or other fitness metrics shown in the permission screen.
Where a service provider processes health-related information on our behalf to deliver a Gymmie feature, it may use that information only as necessary to provide that service to Gymmie and not for its own advertising or unrelated purposes. You control HealthKit permissions through Apple’s system settings and can revoke access at any time.
4. Gymmie AI & Google Gemini
Gymmie AI uses Google’s Gemini API to generate coaching and other AI-powered responses. When you use Gymmie AI, we may send the text or audio you submit together with limited profile context needed to make the response useful. That context may include your first name, fitness goals, targets, preferences, and recent activity.
We do not intentionally send your email address or full legal name to Gemini as profile context. Voice audio is used to generate or interpret your request, and Gymmie does not retain the voice recording after processing.
Gymmie uses a paid Gemini API service. Under Google’s published terms for paid Gemini API services, prompts and responses are not used to improve or train Google’s products. Google may nevertheless retain limited prompts and responses for a limited period where necessary for abuse monitoring, security, legal obligations, or other purposes described in Google’s applicable service terms. Gymmie does not permit Google to use your Gymmie AI content for advertising.
AI outputs can be wrong or incomplete. Do not rely on Gymmie AI as a substitute for medical, nutritional, or other licensed professional advice.
5. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- create, authenticate, secure, and maintain your Gymmie account;
- personalize workouts, nutrition targets, AI coaching, recommendations, and progress insights;
- provide run mapping, nearby clubs, events, community, friend-finding, and other social features you choose to use;
- process and verify subscription entitlements and purchases;
- send authentication or verification messages, including phone verification codes;
- operate, debug, monitor, protect, and improve Gymmie;
- respond to support requests, enforce our Terms, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
- communicate material service, safety, account, or policy updates.
We do not use your personal data for third-party targeted advertising.
7. No sale of data or ad tracking
Gymmie does not sell your personal data. Gymmie does not use third-party advertising SDKs to track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use your HealthKit, workout, nutrition, AI, contacts, precise location, or other personal data for targeted advertising.
Our public website currently uses Google Fonts to load typography. Like most web resources, font requests may transmit standard network information such as an IP address and browser/device information to Google. The website does not intentionally place advertising cookies or ad-tracking pixels.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Gymmie, maintain your account, meet legal or financial obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.
If you delete your account, we will begin deleting or de-identifying personal data associated with the account, subject to limited exceptions where we must retain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax/accounting, or dispute-resolution reasons. Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until normal backup rotation completes.
As noted above, Gymmie does not retain voice recordings after processing. Service providers may maintain limited technical or security logs under their own applicable retention rules.
9. Your choices & rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update some account/profile information directly in the app.
Delete your Gymmie account
You can request account deletion from the in-app Account & Security controls. You may also contact us at ahmedsafyann@gmail.com.
Permissions
You can control HealthKit, Contacts, Photos, Microphone, and Location permissions through iOS. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature but does not automatically delete information already stored in your Gymmie account; use account deletion or contact us if you want stored data deleted.
We may need to verify your identity before completing certain privacy requests.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and device secure and for notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
11. International data transfers
Gymmie and its service providers may process or store data in countries other than the country where you live, including countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, we use contractual or other legally recognized safeguards for international transfers and require service providers to protect personal data consistently with applicable law.
12. Age requirement
Gymmie is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to Gymmie, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you should use Gymmie only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Gymmie evolves, our providers change, or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or through another reasonable channel.
